Arbornauts with a passion

The art of inspirational tree climbing has inspired many of our students to become facilitators and instructors in order to share this passion with their communities. We work closely with our students, supporting and nurturing harmonious tree climbing opportunities around the planet.

If looking for a tree climbing experience in your area, contact TCP as we may have a professionallly trained facilitator in your neck of the woods.

Tim Kovar

Tim Kovar is a Master Tree Climbing Instructor with 30 years of teaching experience. His love and respect for nature, and wanderlust spirit, led him to “take the vertical path less traveled”, luring him to remote jungles and forests in pursuit of his vision to help connect others to our natural world.

In 1993, Tim began his career at Tree Climbers International where he helped develop the standardized curriculum that is now taught world-wide. In 2005, he co-founded Tree Climbing Northwest with New Tribe in Southern Oregon. In 2010, he branched out and founded Tree Climbing Planet.

A true believer in sharing his knowledge, Tim consults with eco-tour operators, film crews, researchers, and budding entrepreneurs wishing to plant their own schools and experience.

Kristy Jensen

Kristy Jensen grew up in Oregon and has always felt a deep love and connection to trees. As a mother of 4, she climbed dozens of trees barefoot with her children. Training under Tim Kovar and TCI, she became a recognized facilitator in 2019.

Her climbing highlights have included multiple climbs in Oregon, California, Utah, Nevada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and in Denmark where she assisted in facilitating over 3,000 scouts on their first climbs.

She believes trees hold a unique healing ability and provide a sense of wonder and calm.
