This three day course is designed to give you the skills to safely camp in your backyard deciduous trees such as Oaks, Maples, Walnut, etc.. You will learn basics of selecting a good/safe climbing tree, basic DRT/MRS climbing techniques, positioning lanyard, branch walking, proper tree climbing gear all with the purpose of installing a specially designed hammock, called a Treeboat, to construct a temporary treetop village.
The first day of the course will cover basic climbing and inspection, second day will be focused on lanyards and constructing our arboreal campsite for the night – we will sleep in the trees on the 2nd night.
Third day will consist of ‘breaking camp’, gear talk and basic tree inspection. You will leave the course with the skills to go climb and camp in your own trees. This is a very hands-on course and space is limited to 4 students per instructor.

“Tim is an excellent teacher of tree climbing who puts his soul into creating a respectful relation between trees and humans. If there’s anyone I’d trust my life to, it’s Tim. He has both the moral responsibility and the technical skill it takes. Moreover his teaching is filled with humor and philosophical depth, he’s a natural born storyteller.”
